Hi Rahul, not sure if this helps: when you upload a document file containing a publication, others can download it and RG shows you how often it was downloaded each week. So the publications you uploaded onto RG are already shared with everyone who wants to download them. So, what I do is -> I click on 'add publication', -> then either type the correct citation manually or let the system search for it on the web, -> within this process there is an option allowing you to upload your publication file (I use either word or pdf). After doing that, the file becomes available for others to download. I'm not aware of another way of sharing publications on RG.

Below your question, there are three buttons - upvote, down vote, share.
Click share and send to relevant researchers whom you know are in such relevant researches or whoever can contribute interdisciplinary...Maybe even to RG friends who wish to cross learn. ..
Thanks Prof Lehtihet. It's only Publications from our 'field of research' that we have the SHARE button. You are alert, congrats Prof L and thanks. (Perhaps by not giving us the advantage of being initiative to share, equal exposure is given to all? Do you think so?)
Interesting observation. I think the issue may be associated with the size of the files and the space they require if they have to be shared with large number of RG friends. While questions do not require many bites and can easily be shared with many members, publications on the other hand need more bites. With 7 million members and many more joining daily RG probably needs to manage its web space judiciously.
As to your question, indeed, you cannot share your own work under the new RG system. Part of the reason is probably memory saving as already suggested above by @Rajeswara, but no only that.
First, whenever I add a publication, all people in my network will get an automatic update in their live-feed anyway. Second, those who miss the live update can still get this information by going to "publication" + "Recently published" + "Researchers you follow".
Therefore, sharing my own work will be totally redundant and will just fill up unnecessarily the mailbox of my followers. By doing so, I might even end up disturbing my followers, especially those who happen to exchange a lot of private mails and who, thus, would need to sort out their mailbox. Consequently, I think the new system is, in fact, much more efficient. Of course, this is just my opinion and other RG members may not agree with me.
