When a plant is inoculated with virus, why does the virus go straight to the roots?

Somebody knows the reason?

I am not a plant Virologist. But rationally since all nutrients in plants travel from roots to all parts of the plant, this could be the reason for the virus also travels from roots to other parts of the plant as per the specificity.
