Dear Researchers,

Greetings from Switzerland!

I am reaching out to you as a doctoral student conducting a meta-analysis on the relationship between stress (including test anxiety) and memory performance subsequent to learning with retrieval practice (link to the public registration: https://osf.io/pkrzb)

As part of our comprehensive literature review process, we are issuing a call for any published or unpublished manuscripts relevant to this topic. Your contribution to this endeavor would greatly enrich our analysis.

If you have any unfinished or unpublished manuscripts that align with our research focus, we would be grateful for your assistance. Rest assured that any data provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and used solely for the purpose of inclusion in our meta-analysis.

For each study or sample you can provide, we kindly request the following information:

  • Brief description of the study and procedures
  • The role of stress in memory following learning with retrieval practice effect sizes, with confidence intervals if available/relevant
    • This includes the means and standard deviations of the group that learned with retrieval practice before and after stress, as well as the group that learned with restudy (or another learning strategy) before and after the stressor
    • Please note the stressor can include stress induced through procedures such as the TSST, or through induction of test anxiety
  • Sample size after exclusions
  • Independent variable :
  • Brief description of the measures/scales were used
  • Internal reliabilities if available/relevant.
  • Dependent variable:
  • Brief description of the measures/scales were used
  • Internal reliabilities if available/relevant
  • Demographics and data collection details:
  • Date of data collection:
  • Country
  • Type of participants
  • Mean age (and SD if available).
  • Reference to be used when citing this data or manuscript.

Please provide a reference to be cited when utilizing your data or manuscript. Additionally, if you possess raw data yet to be analyzed, we are more than willing to assist in the analysis process. In such instances, kindly furnish the dataset alongside a description of key variables relevant for the analysis.

If you have such data please contact me through ResearchGate by sending me a message or replying to this thread.

Thank you for your consideration.

Best wishes
