I've been searching for suitable amyloid beta peptides to induce Alzheimer's disease related symptoms in cells and mice. Some of the peptides are being acetylated on one end, which "may improve stability in in vitro and in vivo assays" according to Sigma, but no further explanations or reference were given.

I was wondering if this "improved stability" is specially designed for animal injection or cell culture treatments, or simply to make the peptide easier to handle.

What are the general purposes for acetylated peptides and should I use it in experiments, or the original peptide instead?

Thanks in advance. Lin
