I've got blocks of rat paw skin that have been immersion fixed in 4% PFA for 16 hours, then washed and cryoprotected in 30% sucrose. I ideally need to store these for about 6 months, before sectioning on the cryostat and performing immunohistochemistry. Is it best to leave them in sucrose or shall I embed them in OCT and leave them frozen (-80? -20?).

Thank you!
