This is focused on the rating of existing surface aerators, from a decentralized waste stabilizations series of ponds in Ecuador (mechanically aerated, facultative and maturation ponds).
Ambient Temperature = 24 - 26°C
Pond T = 26 - 30°C
I have this question because I have read from a consultant that higher temperatures should not be used for design as they are an indicator of "dead zones" in the pond, where no mixing occurs. However, aeration power requirements will be less, because oxygen transfer increases with lower temperatures.

Oxygen transfer efficiency kLa increases with temperature. However, this is off-set by a lower oxygen solubility at a higher temperature. You should use the manufacturer’s standard oxygen transfer rate (SOTR), which is specified at normal atmospheric pressure (101.3 kPa) and 20°C and then use a temperature correction factor (θ =1.024) where kLa(T) = kLa(20) *1.024POWER (20 –T) and tabulated dissolved oxygen solubility values at the pond temperature and pressure.
