I need to inject 0.2 microliters of Vitamin A / Vitamin E oil intraperitoneal into 3 day old mouse pups which weigh 2 grams. What type of syringe and what type of needle works well to aspirate the oil into the syringe to inject 0.2 microliters intraperitoneal ? Immediately after the oil mixture has been injected the pups will also be injected with 20 microliters of a mixture of Vitamin C and Magnesium. Is a Hamilton syringe the best tool to use for these two injections?
Not sure but this may work for 0.2ul: Fisher part # 14-813-090. Any way to dilute further to make a bigger volume that is easier to dispense? 0.2ul is pretty small!

For neonatal mouse injections (P0-P6), we use an insulin syringe with a 28 or 29 gauge needle and routinely inject 15-30ul. See Fisher #14-826-79 or #14-841-32. If the solution is made in oil, use a 1ml syringe without the needle to load the insulin syringe from the back -- it is extremely difficult to pull up oil into a 28/29 gauge needle.

For small doseages as you are injecting, I use Hamilton glass syringes. You can call them and talk to their tech support for which one of their syringes would be best for your work.
