Do I have to go for chromatography or spec? And if chromatography then which one? And if that particular then what are all the things and information that I should have for the analysis? I may be asking a highly awkward and basic question but help is needed since Im totally illiterate with this particular field of science.

2. Which solvent did you use?
3. Do you want to check for any biological activity?
4. Do you want to check for any specific compounds of interest?

You can begin with thin layer chromatography of the extract; this will be simple and economical. this can give you information about no of components in the extract and their relative polarity. This information can then be used for further fractionation.
