I would like to cultivate fecal bacteria, not for diagnostic purposes but for an ecological study. Thus, I am not interested so much in the pathogenic species but the normal commensal ones.
I don't think , you need any special media to grow fecal bacteria , you need to isolate bacteria from fecal material and follow the normal procedure as followed in case of any other bacteria....
Thank you. I could only find media like this: "selective enrichment of Gram-negative rods: selenite F broth, selective enrichment for vibrio: alkaline peptone water" and so forth. I need something to get the main commensals.
Thanks, I do not plan to cultivate every bacteria -- I know most of them are fastidious at the very least. I am more interested in the most common ones..
