Would you recommend to your grandchildren who are attending university in 2030 a vocational program to teach a profession or a bachelor's degree in scientific disciplines?
It is important that since childhood young people have experienced by parents and near persons self-confidence, emotional strength and openness to others. On this social-emotional base they gain, interest, knowledge, abilities, and they learn to be responsible for their acting.
I would prefer vocational program. the outcome based practical, project oriented educational system which would have multidisciplinary approach are more relevant in the future.

Indubitably, dramatic changes in political, socio- cultural, and economic realms of modern communities in the world require a drastic change in educational policies and depend on the contributions of the students of our schools today. As such, the modern educational systems must envisage the future goals by evaluating the status quo and make their programs sensitive to and compatible with the innovative nature of educational goals of the future. Consequently, the education systems today should be able to cope with rapid changes in unprecedented technological changes and innovations because the relationship between education and social demands is the central core of any successful educational system. On this basis, future education programs should break from the past and invest on research-based curricula imbued with modern technologies of education dominating teaching and learning processes.
I'd recommend a bachelor's degree in either a scientific discipline or one of the humanities. The world will always need physicians, for example, and vocational training is inadequate for proceeding to medical school.
Education will always go through the process of accepting a pact. The commitment must always be embedded in the learner, as more technologies or innovations become available. The brain will always be the driver of the evolution of education.
my recommendation will depend on their natural aptitudes. we need all kinds of people to have a balanced society. any education that positively changes a person's character/personality is good both for the person and the society. the current educational system is producing "educated illiterates". thanks.
Vocational program is preferred. It has the capacity of producing creative individuals with relevant knowledge and skills to overcome the challenges confronting the world.
Technical and vocational education is what I will recommend to my grandchildren. The 21st century has presented a challenge to the entire human race where Artificial Intelligence is leading the forefront. Based on this it will be expedient to understand the technicalities associated with this revolution to be able to survive and remain relevant in the 21st century.
The education aspect is easy to replace (and has been for centuries), but self-motivation is hard, networking with your industry is next to impossible from your couch, and the self-learner has no way to prove what he or she has learned. Until those issues (and maybe others) can be replaced cheaply, degrees are going to provide a significant advantage.
Assuming someone comes up with a distributed approach to solving these problems, we may see a decline of colleges worldwide in favor of some peer-to-peer mechanism.
However, with increasing lifespans and a decline in unskilled jobs, it's not out of the question for governments to start thinking about mandating more years of school, which could make colleges as permanently relevant as high school diplomas.
I advocate inclusive education; a fusion of both science and vocational studies - one should major the other which compliments it, depending on the "calling" of the candidate. By so doing, the candidate would balance the educational equation to be able to manage less demanding situations prior to the arrival of a professional in time of need.
In my opinion a combination of vocational and academic i.e. Degree Apprenticeship which are beginning to become more popular within the UK.
Justification:
Employers want people who can hit the ground running and have the soft skills i.e. communication, team working, understand the working environment, etc.
Candidates seeking qualifications want value for money, its currently very expensive to gain a degree at University in the UK. Therefore a pure academic qualification without a gap year doesn't give them the soft skills employers want. So it will be more appealing to candidates to gain an academic qualification with a year in industry or degree apprenticeship or a degree but with Internships during the summer holidays.
I think the previous answers are very valuable. If I will think they have gained a strong, researching and self-confident personality until the time of the era, I will leave the decision to themselves, those who will start university In 2030. If they will ask me my opinion, then I would try to make suggestions according to the developments up to that time.
