Clinical pharmacology of steroidal oral contraceptives reveals that the cerebrovascular/ thromboembolic disease, estrogen dependent neoplasia, breast carcinoma, acute liver disease, pregnancy, undiagnosed genital bleeding etc are the absolute contraindications; whereas epilepsy, hypertension, prepregnancy idiopathic jaundice, uterus ieomyomata, migraine/ headache and women over 40 years age are included in the relative contraindications. What is your suggestion for better and safe use of steroidal oral contraceptives for the mentioned disorders?
