We currently use The HiSpeed Qiagen Maxi Prep kit. We are shopping around for other options. Does anyone have a preferred method/kit? How do yields compare? ease of method? cost? thanks!
PureLink® HiPure Plasmid Filter Maxiprep Kit. The PureLink® HiPure Plasmid Filter Kits include HiPure Filter Columns, which combine filtration for clarification of the bacterial lysate with anion-exchange resin purification of plasmid DNA, in a single unit. that save you at-least 60 minutes compared to the quiagen maxi kit.
Qiagen's Plasmid Plus maxi kit is frequently used by me because its cost effective and not time consuming with high yield of DNA as well as it uses a vacuum manifold. .
This week I tried the pro mega wizard maxi kit, the invitrogen pure link with filter, and qiagen plasmid plus. I believe the promega kit does not remove endotoxins. Compared to the qiagen hi speed kit, I like both the invitrogen and qiagen plasmid plus more. All three kits gave high yield. Promega wizard kit was a long complicated kit, I would choose the plasmid kit first, but I am not opposed to the invitrogen pure link kit. Thanks for all your advice.
You should try Biomiga's Plasmid Maxi Kit, which just came out this Feb (2014), it is offered by GeniCity.com. It takes less than 30 min., the capacity of the column and DNA yield are higher than any commercial products we know. you can email [email protected] for a sample maxi kit to try it out to compare
