Can anyone tell me what is a tryptophan scan for proteins?

How will it help us to know the folding/refolding of proteins?

How to analysis and get the answer from the experiment?

Thanks for the reply, i understand the intrinsic fluorescence property of try n tyr.i purified my protein and to detect the folding i scanned it for tryptophan by exictation at 270 and emission range from 300 - 400 nm. But i couldnt interpret the scan and tell whether my protein is folded are not. If you have any reference paper regarding this plz info me.
