Antibiotic PK/PD indices such as t>MIC, AUC/MIC and Cmax/MIC are well known now and some cutoff values have been given to predict therapeutic efficacy, and the prevention of drug-resistant mutant pathogens. I am looking for recent developments where the validity of these cutoff values has been tested for infection sites that are not highly blood-perfused, or that are protected by a drug-permeation barrier.

Jerome - over the years there have been many studies in mice models published for some of these parameters. However, while there seems to be good correlation to human infections, the indices may not be applicable for veterinary medicine. PK/PD indices, as you know, are pathogen, drug, target species specific. The most recent work that I have been following is the studies coming out of Peter Lees lab in the UK.
