The solution should be stable for long time provided you excluded water from it. Water is slightly soluble in chloroform so you should use anhydrous chloroform and store it under inert conditions. One "quality control" would be to determine the molecular weight of the polymer every time you use your PLGA.

But rather than chloroform go for acetone as it is class-3 solvent and chloroform is of class -2.

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately, chloroform is my only option here. I presume the best way to test the MW of the polymer is by GPC?
