What is the role of the "minimum reference" in the convergence criteria in Ansys for nonlinear finite element analysis of structures?
"minimum reference" is not available in other software FEA applications such as Marc & Mentat.

Ansys uses numerical methods like any other finite element programs. In numerical method, you are starting with initial solution and substitute in the equtaions to get a final solution. repeat this step untill the solution is converged. In ansys the minimum reference is represent the difference between initial and final solution at which the convergence exist.
