i see toddlers as young as 6 months leave for school as early as 6: pm as the same time their parents leave for work. in your opinion, are the parents of such toddlers doing the right thing?
No, it is not a right way, because toddler need more attetion from parents becuase this time is for their process of knowning and social development. So better to send childs after 3& half or 4.
The child can be sent to school when he starts walking. He will not learn anything but interact with other children, be involved with games which will help him define skills which will help him prepare for later schooling.

I started schooling at 5 years and i am happy about the journey i passed through. I sent my son to school at the age of 3 years and i really felt that, he is missing his beautiful childhood days, which i enjoyed when i was a child. Due to people around us do the same thing, we do follow the same thing, which was the case for my son. I feel guilty for having done this many times as i saw the small child carrying so much of books and wanted to play with so many toys instead.
Education is becoming more and more commerical as like businesses where we all do and or work. Pressure on business performance transmit pressure on individuals working in firms. This indeed transmit the pressure to the society and on the whole education system, which makes even toddlers to go to schools.
According to me, this is crazy and unacceptable. But, still many of us including me is doing the same mistake for justifiable (?) reasons. Truly, the victims are our beloved KIDS !!!!!.

Unfortunately, many people do not have the rime to with their children today. The children end up staying with employees, neighbors or at best with the mother at home who has the house chores and some time other children Seldom, these mothers are able to play with their children. It is a very negative setting and the child is brought up by electronic games, television or other means.
At school they will socialize, will find a team waiting for them and yet they will return home for love and attention.

There are different ages whereby different things can be taught. At 3 social skills and introduction to simple letters and arithmatic. But this is not for every child. My fear is children going into education too early in our world of one hat fits all.
There is no hard & fast rule for deciding right age for a child to start schooling but about the 4 yrs is proper consideration for sending the school for child . To me this is the sincere responsibility for parents to observe his/her child their likely interest & inclination for going to school . It has been observed that initially due to the change atmosphere child is reluctant to go to the school & after seeing the behavior of the child parents may judge with the child is comfortable & showing interest in going to school.
Apart from this parent should also find out the child behavior ,practice ,& performance in the school . In one of the case I have noticed that very intelligent & smart & well behave girl have sent to KG Class & after certain period she never used to talk regarding her school . It has been decided that parents to visit the school & meet the lady class teacher & from her parents come to know that the child never speak in the class .Parents asked the class teacher that what is the training program for the children she describes thru nursery rhymes , certain alphabets, & certain tables . The child went she return home she become little nervous but parents took a an interest & went to the book shop to purchase a book of Nursery Rhymes ,the child become happy & when parent called his child to speak out the rhymes she spoke fluently ,parents become happy & sent a note to the principle in a very kind manner while appreciating her class teacher for giving the cooperation & the principle was good enough he called the child in his room & very smiling talked asked certain question which she replied . The principle become happy he appreciated the progress of the child informed the parents accordingly .
The parents found a remarkable progress in the study & parents observe that up to the matriculation she came out with very successful career .
The long details is only that how far the parents if they take initial care for their child , it may certainly make remarkable progress for the career development .
This is my personal opinion
I think age 4+ is good for going to school. I started at 6 and felt good at school. Nowadays, either the parents don't want to take responsibility for children or they are too busy to take their care and send babies and toddlers either to creches or play schools. Several trends like live-in-relationship, career orientation, sexual orientations even in developing countries indicate the trend towards irrelevance of children and increase in self-gratification.
It starts at birth but at age four the child is able to communicate better and so can start school.
It depends on the countries, the cultures, the living conditions of the families, the awakening or not of the child, etc.
