To investigation of genetic diversity of some accessions I want to know dose anyone have any information about relationship of climate (temperature, soil type, rainfall,.. ) and genome size in angiosperm?
Some studies indicate a positive correlations between the duration of the vegetative period or longitude of sampling sites, and genome sizes in various angiosperms. However, there does not seem to be a general trend in genome size variation in relation to longitude. The same holds for a
relationship between genome size and latitude, where positive, negative, or non-significant correlations with genome size have been found. More detailed information can be found in the following articles.
Yes, in previous studies just proposed a significant correlation between longitude and genome size, without any related disscussion or conclusion. I want to know reason of this relationship.
Ok, I undrestand my confusion. Correlation between longitude and genome size proposed when some samples were different eastern and western longitude of origion. This correlation is not suitable for samples in the same region as E or W.
