I had gone through one publication entitled "Modulation of Histone Deacetylase 6 (HDAC 6) Nuclear Import and Tubulin Deacetylase Activity through acetylation" published in JBC in 2012, where I found from the results that acetylation is an important  modification that regulates HDAC6 tubulin deacetylase activity and nuclear import. I am working with a compound currently which has found to inhibit both acetylation of tubulin and expression of HDAC6 protein.

I would be highly obliged if anyone can kindly shed some light on such dual activity of a compound and how can we explain the interrelation between these two inhibitions .
