First you should be  determine the IC50 of each compound, and then compare it with the reference product and eventually conclude about its inhibitory efficacy!

I am checking some docking results. I just need to say that these compounds are active or moderately active.  Reference compound has IC50 of 11nM. I don't think docking results wud provide something that good.  I cannot check for more than three conc which is not enough for IC50. I simply want to compare % inhibition of my compound as compared to reference in 100um, 10um, and 1uM. Is  such data good enough to publish? What value differentiates between active and inactive even if u were using IC50 values?

If the results at 10uM or 1uM are the same as at 100uM, you can say that compound A is a good inhibitor. Docking results, as you mentioned, will not give you the efficiency of the inhibitor (moderate or good).

Actually the motive is to develop compounds which are more active than the existing one.

This is based on comparison of inhibition activity with the reference drug . i.e. the inhibition in uM relative to inhibition activity of reference compound/ drug.

generally > 100 and sometime >200 uM inhibition is not considered as Good.

you can check lots of articles on internet in which inhibition activity has been done.

Dear Vijay,

If compound A in concentrations of 100, 10 and 1 uM has more than 80% inhibition, this means you already have 100-fold (inhibition in 1 and 100 uM).
