IC50 are meaningless until substrate conc is known right?.  Assume competitive binding and the substrate conc is 100uM. If my test compounds are assayed at 100uM and at 10uM, then what % inhibition is needed to argue that these compounds are good inhibitors.

compound A has more than 80% inhibition at 100uM  whereas compound B has less than 10% inhibition. Is this simple distinction enough to label A as a good inhibitor.

What if same results were to occur at 10uM or 1uM when substrate is that same 100uM?
