What is the procedure to make animal models for polycystic ovary syndrome?

Many methods are reported in studies for making animal models for PCOS. I want to know which protocol is consistent and mimics PCOS in humans. Also how can we be sure we have developed an appropriate animal model of PCOS? By this I mean what diagnostic tests should be done on animal models to confirm induction of PCOS.
