You need mass production of Trichoderma. You can grow Trichoderma in brans (such as rice bran, wheat bran, maize bran, pulse bran, etc), tea waste, saw dust and many other substrates. Dry and grind the mixture when it is ready for use in agricultural field. You can formulate it as powder, paste, suspension, compost and substrate mix.
Grow Trichoderma in Malt Extract broth. Alternatively, you can also try 4% jaggery medium. It would be even better if you undertake a small comparative study of the biomass generated in both the media. Jaggery medium is preferable as it is easily available and would be cost effective for large scale production. Harvest the biomass and mix it with Talcum Powder..not the one used for cosmetic purpose! Chemically its magnesium sulfite..autoclave it for several hours. Mix the biomass with the powder. Keep the concentration at 4%. You might have to standardize the concentration. Good luck!
Trichoderma mass production for agricultural purpose can be carried out using cowdung powder by providing proper moisture and starting inoculant. this is the most economic and effective mass production process.
The technology has been very well in use in Eastern U.P area. You may refer to Prof. H. B. Singh's profile for more information in this context.
You can produce high population of Trichoderma on different substrate. A common material is cereal bran, but you can test another organic agricultural waste for decrease mass production costs. you can increase the population of fungi by adding some nutrients such as sugar beet molasses.
FYM is also a potential substrate for the mass production, at Farmers' field. Add 2.5-4 kg of Trichoderma (either powder formulation or sorghum grain based ) in 100 kg FYM and keep it in shadow and maintain moisture for seven days, you will get good amount of fungal colonies, which can directly apply to field.
You can make mass multiplication of tricoderma on Jawar or barley seeds which can be done by autoclave grains and some water should be added before inoculation of culture after some 15 days clear growth grain dried at room temp grind and can be use for fungal attack treatment.
Trichoderma can be mass multiplied by using jaggery, carrot, barley, fish wastes, etc can be used and it should be autoclaved by adding excess of water. Then, it should be purified and the extract can be used as a medium for mass multiplication.
