I have been looking for information on the mathematical model used in ETABS Ultimate to compute the properties of the rotational spring assigned to Panel Zones of steel frames. I found one reference manual issued in 2016 that says: "Mathematically, panel zone deformation is modeled using springs attached to rigid bodies geometrically the size of the panel zone." However, the manual does not explicitly say if the Scissor Model or the Krawinkler Model is used in the software.

Does anybody know what model ETABS uses? If you have supporting material, please share it!
