In a research to determine the effects of cadmium on the physiology and yield of rice and the potential benefits of biochar remediation, i have chosen to use a rounded pot of 6 inches, 15 cm diameter 14cm tall and 1 plant per pot as according to Robert et al 2016 in their paper ‘the best pot size for rice production in green house’ and 2kg of soil due to the dimensions of the pot.
Plants will be pre-germinated in trays and later 1 plant will be transferred t each pot. Please kindly share your views, suggestions and references.

In our case, if we want to know the grain yield of rice, we use 1/2000a Wagner pot (approx. 12-13L). Smaller pots will limit the root growth, limiting its shoot growth.

Hello Aurelia, there was a similar research that was done by Liu et al., 2013. It can be very handful especially considering the fact that it focused on rice grown on paddies and furthermore it focused on bioremediation of heavy mertals on paddies. The levels of heavy metals in a particular place before anthropogenic activities that causes abnormal concentrations vary due to geomorphology of that specific place.
