Hi everybody,

I just started to work in the synthesis of silver nanoparticles from natural extracts and I saw big differences in the behavior of my samples. I am working with a watery extract and an alcohol-water (70-30) extract of the same plant. With the alcoholic extract, I obtained a precipitate on the bottom of the beaker where I made the reaction which I couldn't dissolve it again; a longer incubation time, more precipitate. I didn't have this problem with the watery extract.

What is the difference between them?

What is the influence of the solvent in the synthesis of silver nanoparticles?

And, one question more, what is the influence of the pH in this reaction?

Thank you in advance
