for author it normally achieved high citation after publications and hence increase the author rank and score in the scientific web sites like scupus , google sore , RG and.....
Yes, they have a great importance. They give you orientation and possibly correction of your limited knowledge, especially if you have problems in different fields.
A review article or review paper is based on other published articles. It does not report original research. Review articles generally summarize the existing literature on a topic in an attempt to explain the current state of understanding on the topic. Review articles can be of three kinds:
A narrative review explains the existing knowledge on a topic based on all the published research available on the topic.
A systematic review searches for the answer to a particular question in the existing scientific literature on a topic.
A meta-analysis compares and combines the findings of previously published studies, usually to assess the effectiveness of an intervention or mode of treatment.
Review papers form valuable scientific literature as they summarize the findings of existing literature. So readers can form an idea about the existing knowledge on a topic without having to read all the published works in the field.
The review papers are important becouse they give data for some specific field of investigation in one place. They are a good direction for younger researchers, to find possible sources for future investigations.
What is the importance of publishing a review article?
The importance includes:
Making known to the world about your knowledge contribution through the published article / research you'd done.
Published article can / might deter other researchers to duplicate your research / "reinvent the wheel".
Your article becomes part of the repository for other researchers to search / consider / cite as part of their literature review / research - this will continue the knowledge contribution / motivation within the research community.
Your future research recommendation at the end of your article can motivate / inspire other researchers to continue the research effort where you stopped.
Your published article can add on to your research credential which can carry weight when applying for a teaching profession, promotion, applying for research grants etc.
It is an interesting question. I agree with sir Subhash that review paper is difficult to write and publish..I have a review paper on Subaltern Studies. I know how difficult it was to write it and now how difficult is it to publish! Why do I want to publish my paper? its importance? To provide my readers an understanding about the background of the target topic that is supposed to be helpful for novice researchers. Further to motivate my readers to continue the research on the same topic with multiple dimensions.. With these ideas, I fully agree with sir Han Ping Fung about the importance of publishing a review paper.
Publishing review articles has great importance. Because of the vast information in all grounds definitely help the young researchers. Readers can get important and multidimensional view of any topic. Although it hard to write a review article it will help the readers to know and understanding background data of a topic.
Review article describes the novel technique and results of the published research instead giving new ideas and facts. It will give a detailed explanation of an article so that it can be easily understood by the young researchers. An extended review article that describes the evolution or advancement of a technology is called as survey article. This descrubes the traditional technology and its evolution finally ending in the state of the art research.
Review articles could be used to identify research gaps, form new perspectives and create relevant contextual narratives for an evolving research. So I completely subscribe to publishing quality review article with SLR paradigm. Bot young and old academics can publish a review article.

Dear Mahamad, I just published a Revew paper, and I had 3 rounds of peer reviews. So, I think that reviews are harder to publish, but is reconforting when you read your work. In my case, every time a read the review, I refresh the whole idea on my mind.
