I found that ResearchGate, Google Scholar Citation and Scopus give different citation details of an author.
Which one is more accurate?
Is there any other portal which gives more realistic information about citation of an author?
Let me know which one is giving the best citation details?

google scholer is the best for citation because it is updated directly while scopus take along time .
Google Scholar is pretty good and one such portal which updates the profile of a researcher constantly and thereby provides the total no. of citation and h-index.
The only drawback of it is that it tends to include some other authors article as well which matches with the reaserchers name.
Besides that ResearcherID can be useful.
I have seen few authors profile on google scholar which contains papers of some other authors(of same name) and the procedure to rectify this is not easy or available. On the other hand scopus is a better choice. Though in this also sometimes wrong author paper comes but they can be easily corrected by taking the help of scopus handling personal..

I wrote this short note to detail the differences between the indexes proposed by different sites.
All are fine and give correct results. Only the reference frame differs.
ISI and SCOPUS are the only index accepted by academics to describe researchers production. SCOPUS gives slightly higher figures usually, because it indexes more journals than ISI.
Researchgate gives usually higher figures than the former two. it is due to that everyone can put on the site all his production, with much more publications than ISI and SCOPUS. But RG is still limited by the number of people registered, as not all researchers have created an account.
The highest values are reached by Google Scholar -if used by harzings/publish or perish it is much more easy-, as GS scans all products visible on the net, of anybody.

Researchgate only sees publications from registered researchers - therefore, citation counts and indices could be underestimated. same applies to SCOPUS (via Mendeley) and possibly ISI (which I am not familiar with as much) as they see journals registered with them and they do not usually see book chapters or conference papers/abstracts and I do not know if these can be added manually. Google scholar is much more wide-reaching as it searches almost everywhere. It can pick stuff from authors with similar names but it is not difficult to filter these out as one can still manually add and delete things. These are personal observations and things may vary from a case to another. Researchgate is more personal and flexible but I guess one has to have a profile at a few sites ... google scholar should be one of these.

About ISI and SCOPUS it is not possible to add material. But with SCOPUS it is possible to request that some uncorrectly stored material from you to be merged to you main account. For sure research ID is the solution to avoid this.
