Dear Francesco Bruni , it confounds me that my Hela cells these days look more like the cells in the left picture though they are in high density which isn't what they used to be. In the past, they resembled more cells in the right pic, which to me seemed bigger and healthier. Is there any explanations for this? I am thinking about the cell density when I cryopreserved them which might be a bit lower than usual. Would this cause my problem? Also, I'm curious about the projections on the cells, are these cells trying to reach out for one another, attempting cellular communication? If they are, this might explain it since cells in my culture hasn't reached confluence yet.
