What is the exact sequence of Human p40 protein?

You stumbled on a mix-up of names. There is indeed a protein called P40 (O00374), this is an unrelated protein. You are looking for the protein sequence that is recognized by the antibody called p40. In the following paper it states, “Although frequently thought of as a single molecule, p63 in fact consists of several variants (isoforms), which fall into two major groups—TAp63 and ΔNp63 (Figure 1).”:

In the Yang et al paper there is one of the rare examples I was able to find that gives sequence info on a protein level (Figure 2).

If you use the following UniProt entry:

https://www.uniprot.org/uniprotkb/Q9H3D4/entry and go to Sequence & Isoforms then Q9H3D4-2 gives a sequence corresponding to p40 (click on show sequence).
