I have observed the transformation (from Z to E) in a steroid moiety after a long standing with a mixture of polar solvents. Can you please explain me the mechanism, I mean how and what extent the solvent can play the key role?
Dear Sudheer. I think what you have is a reaction called "aromatic solvent induced shift in steroids" or ASIS. I am not a big expert in the chemical synthesis field, but I could find an interesting thesis work related to it.
