If I have deposited semiconductor thin film followed by metal deposition for electrical measurements, and since both of the shape and area of the contact electrode a can be varied,s illustrated in Figs#(1, 2), hence I am wondering about the effect of some parameter on the measured current as follows:
1)The effect of overlapped area between contact electrode and the deposited thin film on the photo-induced current of photo-sensors, a shown in Fig#01?
2) what is expected if the contact between thin film and the contact electrode is non uniform as illustrated in Fig#02?
If I understood your questions correctly, you must not worry about your first point if metallic contact is thicker than skin length. About second point, the most important is the chemical potential mismatch means transparency. Roughness may not matter if it is not larger than few nanometers.

I will be thankful if you illustrate more about skin lenght because I have a little experience in electrical measurements.
I think, you will be measuring current generated in semiconductor due to interaction with light? In that case, if thickness of the electrodes is longer than penetration length (skin depth) of the radiation, the overlap area is not important any more since radiation is not interacting there?
