I have a strange result, in which CdSO3 is formed with annealing of CdS nanoparticles at 600oC. I assumed that I would be getting CdO, so it's a strange result for me and no literature confirms this conversion.
According to Figure 1 from the attached paper, 600oC is already too high for the formation of CdO (region D in that figure). At this temperature CdSO3 phase starts to form (region C).
But it's pretty strange because CdSO3 can be oxidized easily at such conditions. Dear Ahmed, have you established the formation of cadmium sulfite by means of the XRD?
