I am currently working on both Vero and MA104 cell lines. Both cell lines have been procured from ATCC and as per the technical document, both cell lines have similar source (origin) animal yet MA104 cells show a higher sensitivity to enteric virus infections.

I analyzed the cell DNA using multiple sequence alignment only to find that they are 99% identical in their genome (as per data from published sequences of ATCC).

I would like to know if there are any cell surface proteins which enable the MA104 cells to demonstrate higher sensitivity to enteric virus (e.g. rotavirus) infections as compared to Vero cells.
