I have to use LNCaP cells for Methylation specific PCR, but LNcaP cells are not available but LNCaP FGC cells are available. So Can I use these cells in place of LNCaP cells?
It looks like LNCaP-FGC is the "official" LNCaP of the ATCC so thats probably what most researchers use in general. Any other clone would probably be the exception and not the rule. Based on the ATCC, I think using LNCaP-FGC is functionally the same as using LNCaP. One may actually have to go to the original researchers to request an older parental line. In short, yes it is fine.
