I am using expert highscore software for XRD data analysis. The database in this software is COD24_HS4x downloaded from Crystallographic open database. and while analysis the softwares matches the data with a matching pattern, and finally provides a matching reference pattern and it reference no. I have doubt regarding how I mention this matching reference pattern in my article? For example my sample got matched with reference pattern no. 96-900-7498. How can I mention it, COD reference pattern no 96-900-7498 or will it be right if I mention it as ICDD PDF No. 96-900-7498?

In the description of the file there are more informations, and I think there is an identifier number of the database. Maybe the title 96-900-7498 is not the COD nor ICDD number. When you have this doubt, google this number and check if it is COD or ICDD.

Hello Unniyarcha K.K , no "96-900-749" is an HighScore(Plus) internal Unique ID, which is auto created when you use the COD!
It has no meaning outside the HighScore software. To mention that Match in a paper or any other publication you should use the original COD ID or better the publication reference it was based on. When you double click that pattern in the pattern list in HighScore you see all required information. In that case the COD ID is: "9007497" and the publication reference is: "Accurate structure analysis with synchrotron radiation. The electron density in Al2O3 and Cu2O, Kirfel, A., Eichhorn, K., Acta Crystallographica, Section A, 46, 271 - 284, (1990)"
