If you see precipitation after dissolving MTT in PBS, try to use 0.9% NaCl.

@amit ,

we have to keep equal volume during our experiments, so in the negative control or the untreated cells, we have to equate the volume with 1X PBS. Let me know if my answer needs further elaboration.
