i am using HEK293T as a normal cell line along with A549 but it is difficult to prevent the infection. what is the best replacement which i can use instead of HEK293T?
To find a cell line that is more difficult to infect than HEK293T would require careful consideration of the specific virus, the cell line's antiviral defenses, as well as its suitability for the research goals.
You may use COS-7 cell line. The COS-7 cells are not inherently resistant to infection, but they can be more challenging to infect with certain viruses compared to other cell lines making it a good alternative to HEK293T for certain research applications where viral infection is undesirable. The reduced susceptibility to viral infection in COS-7 cells can be beneficial in experiments where it is necessary to study viral entry mechanisms, assess the impact of host cell factors on viral replication, or when a high titer of viral particles is not desired. The COS-7 cell line is derived from the kidney of the African green monkey. Specifically, it's a fibroblast-like cell line.
So, the use of COS-7 cell line will provide a more challenging environment for viral infection, making them suitable for experiments where minimizing viral infection is crucial.
