I am designing a study in which I wish to determine the effect of a fruit (F) over a variable (X). F has a known and determinated composition (e.g. polyphenols, fiber, etc) which is not comparable even between fruits of the same specie. I wish to state that F is good/bad for X but I have no proper control. What are my options for deisigning my study? (I can't do a cross-over trial)
