Hi! I'm trying to stimulate cells with IL-6 (in order to perform a qPCR) but i can't find a proper protocol. Any suggestions?

* In vitro studies: Reported concentrations for cell stimulation in research often fall within the range of 1-100 ng/mL.
* Start with a dose-response experiment to optimise the exact dose showing toxicity in the cells: Test a range of IL-6 concentrations (e.g., 0.1 pg/mL, 1 pg/mL, 10 pg/mL, 1 ng/mL, 10 ng/mL, 100 ng/mL) to determine the concentration that elicits the desired cellular response.

- Dear Ana, which cells are you using? Be careful that in many cells you have to add also sIL6R in cell media which is not expressed by all the cells. In this study we used for PBMCs IL-6 (10 ng/ml) in combination with sIL-6R (125 ng/ml) to analyse cytokine production. PMID: 25271853
