What is the best method for assessing X-ray equipment for Bucky/ beam perpendicularity. (Note: Not light/ beam congruence). In other words, how do we test that the X-rays from an X-ray tube hit the Bucky at 90 degrees when adjusted to a perpendicular position.
From Quality control test, when two same size radiopaque objects hang in line at both ends of a cylinder are superimposed when exposed to X-ray beam, then one can suggest perpendicularity. However, there could be a limit of deviation of superimposition not greater than 1degree which is also acceptable for perpendicularity.
A quick and cheap version: Use a sheet of paper on floor, mark a cross on. Do the centring very carefully, with the shortest possible distance from tube to paper. Extend the distance. Less than 1% failure is preferable.
