You would have to specify the goals you’d like to achieve with the framework in a precise and measurable manner and then perform measurements to see if your goals are met.
The validation of any research programme should be a prerequisite of any research management programme subjected to a process where researchers compete for limited funds. The potential "cost/benefits" of the research should be defined and determined in terms of set criteria applicable to the research environment. If such a process is clearly defined before executing the research it will be a simple process to validate the research outcome, even in the case of a negative (or not very positive) results. Guidelines to the development of an appropriate research management programme are available from published papers.
Before starting a research, the topic, scope, and resources need to be validated using the following determinants:
1. Field of Expertise: The researcher should have expertise in the field that covers the research subject matter. He/she should check the validity of research components i.e. equipment, instrument, methodology, procedure, etc.
2. Resources: Adequate availability of resources i.e. availability of time and funds.
3. Coverage of the Research: The research should have wide coverage of the subject matter.
4. Availability of Related Literature: There should be the availability of a substantial number of related literature.
5.Impact of the Research: The research output should impact a wide range of communities/people/ users.
6. The research should have any negative impact on the environment.
During data gathering: You should validate your information through yes, triangulation method and exercise your objective judgment as to the data informants or participants or respondents have shared. After collating data, go back to them and ask if you got things or ideas right as they had revealed or shared. (esp. for qualitative data).
After everything is done:
Organize a meeting or conference of major stakeholders, key players, key informants or participants of your study. They will form part of your audience as you present and validate the research report that you have drafted. Note of their comments and suggestions needed to finalize the report or final output.
