When we need to achieve the study of corrosion in the human body as in vitro study. What is the best, Ringers solution tablets or Ringers injection as liquid to study the behavior of metallic materials?
this really depends on what material you are looking at. Bone-replacement, blood-contacting implants or other? From what I know cell-culture medium and conditions are preferable to salt-solutions. Also, under static conditions the degradation products accumulate. This does not represent the in vivo corrosion behavior, so at least you should change your medium regularly. For more detailed information you can look at the work of Regine Willumeit/Frank Feyerabend or Nicholas Kirkland.
