I have prepared cell culture from glioblastoma tissue however I should show that this cell culture is a glioblastoma cell culture. How I can prove it? What is the best marker gene that is universally accepted for glioblastoma?
Firstly, thanks for your information. It is very useful for me:)
Second, I prepare cell culture but i should prove it this cell culture is GBM cell culture. For example, I study on Chordoma and Brachury is the marker gene for chordoma. We use brachury to confirm our cell culture is chordoma. I searched literature and found some gene these are used for GBM marker. As an example EGFR is amplificated and/or overexpressed in primary Glioblastomas and p53 mutation occur in secondary glioblastomas. but it is not being used universally..
You have prepared cell culture from a GBM patient tissue. So you need to know, is it from tumor core, peritumoral etc. you analyze the cells morphologically neurons, microglia, oligoastrocytes, astrocytes etc. you stain the cells GFAP e.g. for astrocytes, NG2. Iba1. Other markers like p53, EGFR etc. are genetic markers and not specific only for glioblastoma. I hope I could help you.
