We need to dissolve the drug and chitosan completely and already heard that DMSO, acetic acid and ascorbic acid can be used as a solvent for dissolving. We tried to dissolve the drug in 0.1% DMSO but it is not completely dissolving. If we want to use ascorbic acid as a solvent, what maximum concentration of ascorbic acid can be used for dissolving? Is ascorbic acid toxic to the cells at that particular concentration? It would be greatly helpful if someone clarifies this with reference.
