Normal B-lymphocytes continuously circulate through the body and although a B-cell lymphoma is not really considered as a solid tumor, it does form a mass. Reading about the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) carcinomas go through prior to metastasis I was wondering how B-cell lymphomas metastasize. Do the cells at the rim of the tumor undergo a similar (partial) transdifferentiation? Or can they rely on the capacity of normal B-cells to circulate and is it more a matter of varying expression of cell adhesion molecules? References to key papers would be great.
