Have you ever planted a tree? How we can save plants as they have great significance in our life?
Plants/trees play a very important role in our life. They fulfil our food, fodder fuel, timber, fibre and medicinal needs. Plants/trees are helpful in mitigation of environmental pollution. They are the source of oxygen and sink of carbon dioxide Trees such as Tamarind (Tamarindus indicus) Ashok (Polyalthia longifolia) and Neem (Azadirachta indica) are very useful in control of noise pollution. Plants/trees are also helpful in restoration of degraded lands. Furthermore, plants are useful in removal of heavy metals from the contaminated sites. Trees are helpful in the maintenance of ground water level.
Bit of personal initiative can only save the plants after plantation. It should be not be like most of the mass plantation programme where maximum zeal is shown during plantation primarily for taking photographs of the dignitaries. No one takes care to nurture the plants thereafter. In my opinion for any kind of plantation programme local people must be involved.

plants are living organisms that can live on land or water. they have many different forms such as huge trees, others are herbs or some have bushy form. They basic food for all organisms is produced by green plants. Plants help in maintaining oxygen balance, the most important gas that enable us to breathe.

Good luck!
The question is wrongly framed. Trees and plants are not merely important in our lives but they are synonymous to our lives.
Where do we get the oxygen we breathe? The food we eat? The medicine to cure our diseases? Shelter we live in? Clothes we wear? Our lives are nothing without the plants and trees. That is why my life's primary goal as a researcher is to campaign for the sustainability and conservation of these resources of life -plants, trees, animals and water bodies.
Dr@ Kenneth M Towe , respected sir to make roads in our country lot of plants and trees are being cut. Forests have been already destroyed.
Regards
Plants have also life and they are also part and parcel of our lives....
Question asked by Kenneth, "But, why is there a concern about saving them? That was in the question asked":
Answer:
"The Greenhouse Effect ( May 19, 2012 | By: Samantha Jakuboski )
In order to understand how trees relate to global warming, you first have to understand what the greenhouse effect is.
Just like a greenhouse traps heat inside, Earth has a "natural greenhouse effect" in which some of the sun's infrared radiation is trapped to warm the planet. In the atmosphere, there are certain gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxides, ozone, and water vapor, which aid in this process by reflecting the heat back to earth. This process allows Earth to maintain a comfortable temperature. (An average of around 57 degrees Fahrenheit) If this radiation is not trapped, the average temperature on earth would drop to zero degrees Fahrenheit, (-18 degrees Celsius), and life would not be as we know it today.
In this way, these greenhouse gases are very important and central to the survival of the living organisms on Earth. The greenhouse effect is what makes Earth so unique from the other planets; we have just the right amount of greenhouse gases to make for a suitable temperature.
Yet, too much of something is not a good thing, and in this case, the excess of these greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide, in our atmosphere is detrimental to life and the environment. With a plethora of these gases being released into the atmosphere by human innovations, the greenhouse effect is enhancing and this is causing the rise in temperature that we have been experiencing in the last two centuries. Since 1750, (the beginning of the Industrial Revolution), the output of carbon dioxide alone has risen about 36%, and since 1880, which marks the end of the Industrial Revolution, Earth’s temperature has risen 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Although this may not seem like an enormous increase, the effects it leaves on the environment and the organisms that live in it are damaging and deadly. Many plants and animals cannot adapt to temperature changes in their environment quickly, and this is causing many to become endangered, and for some extinct"(https://www.nature.com/scitable/blog/green-science/deforestation_and_global_warming")

"So how do trees and deforestation relate to global warming?
Trees play a huge role in the carbon cycle. They convert the CO2 in the air to oxygen, through the process of photosynthesis, and in this way, they can be looked at as a natural regulator of the carbon dioxide. The more trees, the less carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the more oxygen.
Since we live in an age where carbon dioxide is very abundant in the atmosphere, released through man-made inventions, such as cars, factories, and power plants, it is vital, more than ever, that trees fulfill their part in the environment and take some of the excess carbon dioxide out of the air. Unfortunately, deforestation is preventing this job to be fully accomplished, and with half of all the Earth's forests gone, and four million trees cut down each year just for paper use, the amount of carbon dioxide is rising. With more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, more of the sun's radiation is being reflected back to earth, instead of space, and this is causing our average temperature to rise. In this way, deforestation is a major issue when it comes to global warming."(https://www.nature.com/scitable/blog/green-science/deforestation_and_global_warming")

"WHY IS A TREE SO IMPORTANT FOR OUR PLANET?"
Why are trees in general so important for our environment and how much CO2 can a tree absorb in a year? Trees are very important, they are the lungs of our planet! Learn about the biggest forests and their use here.Let’s start with a little overview about trees.
"How much CO2 can a tree absorb?
A lot of different influences are responsible for the amount of CO2 a tree can absorb in a year. The tree can absorb or convert more CO2 into oxygen if the tree has enough water, age, how the soil conditions are and the vegetation! The older the tree is the more oxygen will be produced and more CO2 is absorbed. A 80 year old beech absorbed approximately 1 ton of CO2 in it’s lifespan. So every year about 12.5 kilogram. You can find a very nice calculator here http://www.epa.gov/cleanenergy/energy-resources/calculator.html"
They are as essential as humans. Without which, life on earth will be exterminated.
See the given link
https://www.theguardian.com/environment/ng-interactive/2018/jun/27/one-football-pitch-of-forest-lost-every-second-in-2017-data-reveals
So it is essential to save the trees.
If all plants and trees die that will be the end of our civilization. The CO2 levels will keep building up, the planet temperature will increase monotonically, the oceans will warm and at some point we will all fry to death. Plants and trees are our friends taking in our wastes of CO2 and generating life saving oxygen. They are also things of beauty where we derive much enjoyment from including the obvious - our source of food as well as food to the entire animal chain.

The plant is considered to be the main source of human nutrition and all the organisms that feed it, surrounded by birds, animals, animals, insects and fish ... Scientific progress has dictated that plants are natural plants for the production of oxygen necessary for human and animal respiration ... Plants on the other side with their trees and green covers protect the land Desertification and soil erosion and their environmental presence are essential for the conservation of many animals from the risk of extinction ... The benefits of plants, trees and herbs are as follows: 1. Food benefits. 2. Medical and therapeutic benefits. 3. Industrial and aromatic benefits. 4. Environmental and natural benefits.
What is importance of plants and trees in our life?
They are our life :)
Dr @ Kenneth M Towe , your point is true but sir why not cut plants in a planned way for development. Instead of cutting plants why not roads should be built away from previously built roads. We all know there is abundance of water but how much water is suitable for drinking purpose. Same is with trees and plants. Many rare species of plants are in danger because of deforestation.
Plant/tree save the globe than a man does. They are blessings to our world. They possess power of healing, source of energy, protect the ecosystem, balance nature with oxygen production, habitats for animal, shelter for man, shield, beautification, and so on.
Human uses: It is used in the preparation of many natural products such as natural essential oils, dyes, dyes, and candles extracted from resins, tannins and cork. These products derived from these plants make soap, shampoo, perfumes, cosmetics, Lubricants, tarpaulins, plastics and inks, and can be used in the fields of renewable energy such as firefighting, heating purposes through firewood, peat industry, plant fibers used in clothing, housing construction, boats, furniture, musical instruments Sports equipment, paper industry, cardboard, and industrial cellulose-based fibers. And enter into medicine through the manufacture of a range of medicines for the health of the tongue, such as aspirin, Taxol, morphine, quinine, and reseerbine, colchicine and fincristine, which can be obtained from ginkgo, schna ...

**Trees benefit health
1-The canopies of trees act as a physical filter, trapping dust and absorbing pollutants from the air. Each individual tree removes up to 1.7 kilos every year. They also provide shade from solar radiation and reduce noise.
Over 20 species of British trees and shrubs are known to have medicinal properties. The oil from birch bark, for example, has antiseptic properties.
Research shows that within minutes of being surrounded by trees and green space, your blood pressure drops, your heart rate slows and your stress levels come down.
2-Trees benefit the environment
Trees absorb carbon dioxide as they grow and the carbon that they store in their wood helps slow the rate of global warming.
They reduce wind speeds and cool the air as they lose moisture and reflect heat upwards from their leaves. It’s estimated that trees can reduce the temperature in a city by up to 7°C.
3-Trees also help prevent flooding and soil erosion, absorbing thousands of litres of stormwater.
4-Trees boost wildlife
Trees host complex microhabitats. When young, they offer habitation and food to amazing communities of birds, insects, lichen and fungi. When ancient, their trunks also provide the hollow cover needed by species such as bats, woodboring beetles, tawny owls and woodpeckers.
One mature oak can be home to as many as 500 different species. Richmond Park is full of such trees, which is one of the reasons it has been designated a National Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest.
5-Trees strengthen communities
Trees strengthen the distinctive character of a place and encourage local pride. Urban woodland can be used as an educational resource and to bring groups together for activities like walking and bird-watching. Trees are also invaluable for children to play in and discover their sense of adventure.
6-Trees grow the economy
People are attracted to live, work and invest in green surroundings. Research shows that average house prices are 5-18% higher when properties are close to mature trees. Companies benefit from a healthier, happier workforce if there are parks and trees nearby.
7-Trees protect the future
Soon, for the first time in history, the number of people with homes in cities will outstrip those living in the countryside. Parks and trees will become an even more vital component of urban life.
Plants are often destroyed because of development in transport facility and industrialization. There is a process called Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The study when effectively carried out show how to proceed with these developmental processes by causing minimum harm to the nature.
1-Air pollution
There is range of chemical pollutants that can cause problems to health in industrial and urban environments. It has been increasingly shown that the presence of green spaces in these areas can be vital in acting as a sink for these pollutants, therefore improving air quality. Any green space has the capability of reducing air pollution. Woodland planted in the right areas near urban and industrial environments would be particularly effective due to the increase in surface area able to absorb the pollutants.
2-Soil quality
Plants and trees are incredibly important for maintaining good soil condition. Their roots and the microorganisms that live around their roots hold the soil together, reducing the likelihood of soil erosion. When leaves fall from the trees and when plants die, they decompose, fertilising the soil and enabling other plants to grow and thrive.
3-Climate
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the main greenhouse gases that contributes to climate change. Plants take in CO2 and release oxygen through the process of photosynthesis. This CO2 is used as building blocks for new tissue such as their trunk, branches, leaves, and roots acting as carbon stores. However, when forests are cut or burnt the huge amounts of carbon that has been stored in plant tissue and the soil is released into the atmosphere. This is why it is so important to protect these habitats, especially ancient primary forests containing native species that have had little human disturbance in that past.
Trees and plants are not only good for the environment they can benefit our general wellbeing as well. Research has shown that having access to woodland can have several benefits, including increase in physical health, mental wellbeing and our quality of life. Studies also show that exercise in these green spaces can reduce stress and anxiety, improve self-esteem and mood.
4-Medicine
Plants play an important role in the discovery of new drugs and many blockbuster drugs are derived either directly or indirectly from plants. It is important that we protect biodiversity of plants so that new drug discoveries can be made in the future. This not only has a huge impact on health but also an economic benefit.
5-Food
Without plants there would be no food. All carbon in proteins, fats and carbohydrates is derived from photosynthesis in plants. Everything we eat, including meat from animals (which feed on plants) is a result of plants using the energy in sunlight to take carbon dioxide and create complex carbon-containing molecules.
Best regards
Hi,
We need to protect our native plants and trees.
It is incredibly important that we protect our native plants and trees. They are the ecological basis upon which wildlife depends. Native plants support significantly more wildlife than non-native species. They are adapted to the local climate, soil type and wildlife and without them native wildlife would not be sustained. Having a diverse and rich variety of plants is not only socially and environmentally important - they also have great economic benefits through farming and tourism. Plants are vital for life.
How can we imagine life without plants and tress. They are the main sources of every things that we need to live a life.
We exist till these plants an trees exist, since they provide oxygen, good environment, and food to us.

Plant benefits for humans: It is an important source of food for humans, and supplies the body with vitamins, antioxidants, mineral elements, proteins, dietary fiber , carbohydrates and acids. It is an important source of food for animals eaten by humans. Sheep, cows, camels, and chickens are all human food, and the presence of plants is very important for the continuation of the food chain naturally, because it sits at the base of the pyramid for food. It describes the nature in which man lives, makes life more vivid and gives him the green color that inspires hope and optimism, such as green forests covered by plants and trees, and beautiful green plains. It is a source of livelihood for many people, and it is an excellent profession for people working in agriculture, who are involved in the marketing and care of plants. Softens the surrounding atmosphere, calms wind movement, regulates drag movement, and maintains climate moderation. It is an important source of many drugs and medical medicines. There are many medicinal plants that treat many diseases, especially medicinal herbs such as kababong, pomegranate, rosemary, anise, and ring. It is used in many important industries and is the raw material for many industries, especially the timber industry, multi-craft, wood carving industry, industrial fiber, textile industry, household furniture, multi-pots, construction, paper industry, Of dyes. It extracts the oils that man needs most, especially in cooking, such as: olive oil, corn oil, sunflower oil, and flax seed oil. The plant is the only product of oxygen gas, it also eliminates the atmosphere of carbon dioxide, and reduces the volatilization of dust and dust. Maintain soil cohesion, improve its quality, and prevent erosion. Is one of the important natural components of fossil fuels, coal, oil and natural gas. Used in heating heavily, it is considered a renewable energy source. Improves environmental conditions, makes them more hygienic, purifies them of all contaminants, and maintains air moisture through the process of transpiration.
With out plants life is not possible on our planet.Greed and lust (in the name of development and progress for their own comfort without caring for the consequences)of Homo sapiens is the main cause of the destruction of plant life on earth.
Dear collegues,
thank for good discussion: yes for oxigen !!!
I like plant's biology, the color & parfume of flowers...
Nature & agriculture, medicine & artistic life - we have all of plants;
but our love is not reciprocal ... Do plants like humans?
Among the numerous benefits that trees and plant bear, the production of Oxygen is of vital importance.
it is most important to live a happy, healthy and peaceful life
Hello, the trees of our roots are on the ground, yes, I have planted a tree because I am a farmer and gardener too.
Plants can also arose curiosity amongst us.

From root to tip, every part of the plant is useful in one or another manner. This depends on what is the purpose of use and how to use it accordingly.
The benefits of plant in our life is quite known aspect as the plant release O2 and uptake CO2 and will contribute in a reduction of CO2 pollution in the planet. later on, CO2 will convert to organic matter and carbohydrates raises the energy of plant and this is a photosynthesis. and that why plant depends on itself to get a full energy.
Plants help to bond people even across continents. I still remember the American twins and their parents who visited our garden to see the Great Banyan Tree.
The plants keep the environment balanced. 1) Are the basis of the food chain 2) regulate the rate of Co2 and O2 in the atmosphere 3) Filter and nourish the soil 4) They help in the maintenance of thermal comfort. 5) In addition to having medicinal properties
The benefits of plants to humans are considered to be one of the sources on which humans feed. Human beings receive them in many forms, such as corn, wheat, rice, oats, vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumber and leaves such as parsley, parsley and many others. They contain many important elements such as vitamins, minerals, These herbs are used in the preparation of various dishes as basic meals, such as: mint, rosemary, cinnamon and cinnamon, and as a home for many dishes and sweets such as sugar beet, sugarcane ...
Among the benefits of the plant to man: It soothes the atmosphere surrounding human beings, as it calms the movement of wind, and regulates the movement of clouds, and maintains a mild climate
Among the benefits of the plant to man: Improves environmental conditions, makes them more hygienic, purifies them of all contaminants, and maintains air moisture through the process of transpiration.
There are many benefits that benefit the health of the surrounding environment of plants, where plants are the main source of human food, as used by humans in construction, fuel and dyes, and the intervention of some plants in medicine and in the manufacture of various medicines .
On the other hand, the trees were still in many parts of the world, one of the most important sources of building materials, where they built their houses and ships, and the source of energy by burning firewood for fuel, which in itself is one of the most important natural components, including oil, gas and coal millions of years ago Which are now used as a major energy source and for various industrial products. All types of plants, trees and herbs have their own characteristics, both in terms of nutritional, therapeutic and industrial use areas of fruits, flowers, seeds or various parts. Recent research has shown that plants soften the atmosphere of the house and protect us from the effects of toxic chemicals that surround the atmosphere .. It even reduces the symptoms of headaches, fatigue and allergies
Many people think that the importance of the plants is limited to being a food, a source of oxygen and wood, if this is not true at all, the importance of plants beyond this, one of the oldest types of treatments that the world has ever known is herbal therapy, and some believe that this is nonsense and old myths but those re-think about it, only recent studies based on personal experiences of people that herbal remedies is a genuine and effective and may even be better.
The types of plants in the planet are different; some are productive, some are decorative, some are on the surface of the earth, some are found in the sea, and the number of plants on the earth is estimated at more than eight million species. Just as everything in the universe has a benefit, these plants provide us with many benefits that we may see, some of which are invisible. Despite scientific progress and scientists' study of the benefits of many plants, there are still benefits that science has not yet reached.
Among the environmental benefits of plants: Maintaining the balance of the environment, protecting the land from the danger of desertification.
Among the environmental benefits of plants:Prevents the surface of the soil from drifting and soil erosion
Dear Jagmohan
Importance of trees in our life is same as our family. Trees are:
• important source of oxygen and natural air filters,
• natural water conversations and filters,
• the source of food, fruits for animals, birds and humans,
• home for birds,
• play-field for kids, birds and animals.
Trees are important for environment, economic, social and personal development.

People get food from many plant species. Grains are some plants such as corn, rice, and wheat, the main source of food in most parts of the world where we eat bread, and other numerous other products that are made from these grains, and the majority of the meat source that we use animals fed these grains. When we eat beets, or carrots or sweet potatoes, we nourished the roots of plants, as plants nourished with leaves cabbage, lettuce, spinach, and stalks of asparagus plants, celery, and flowering buds of the plants of broccoli and cauliflower. We also supply the fruits of many plants with food, such as apples, bananas, grapes, and oranges as well as some fruits (nuts) and vegetables. Coffee, tea and soft drinks also earn their flavor from plants.
pharmaceutical. Plants are the source of many useful drugs, some of which have been used in medicine for hundreds of years. For example, for more than 400 years, some Indian tribes in South America have used eucalyptus trees to relieve fever. Cloves are still used in the manufacture of quinine, a drug used in the treatment of malaria and other diseases. Another drug called repressive is used to treat heart disease, which is extracted from the dried leaves of the violet glove plant. The roots of the Mexican yam plant are used in the production of cortisone, a drug useful in the treatment of arthritis and a number of other diseases.
All types of plants, trees and herbs have their own characteristics, both in terms of nutritional, therapeutic and industrial use areas of fruits, flowers, seeds or various parts.
The benefits of plants, trees and herbs are as follows: 1. Food benefits. 2. Medical and therapeutic benefits. 3. Industrial and aromatic benefits. 4. Environmental and natural benefits
Life is impossible without trees and their beauty makes life whole!
The problem we can not live without plants and trees but plants and the arts can live without us
Impressive quarry that provoked various excellent contributions and creates valuable discussions and comments by our dear RG colleagues.
It is true that plants and tree gives a colorful meanings to our life
Plants and trees are absolutely vital in our life, e.g.: they are the sources of Oxygen the we breath every moment.
considering the importance of trees, I have published a book entitled trees of our life.
Being a plant taxonomist visit field, collect seeds, give seeds to grow, i also raise saplings, planted in our farm, gave to schools and temples for planting.
Dear Jagmohan Sharma
It is obvious that they give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilize the soil and give life to the world's wildlife. They also provide us with the materials for tools and shelter.
plants important in the ecosystem : They are in the food chain for example insects feed on them then birds eat them then cats eat them and so on.
They also used as food and habitats for animals and birds.
We can not forget that they absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen during the photosynthesis and store carbon in their roots and stem helping to regulate greenhouse gases.
They also help in making wood and fiber for rope , mats ,coir, paper,... etc.
They used also in medicine and building and help in climate regulation and Flood control and so on.
I think that date palm and wheat are important for arabian region as foods. grasses however are important for desert soils.
Trees are the basis of healthy life
Trees are our family member and they play a great role in the protection from pollution. More trees mean less pollution from the increased levels of carbon dioxide, CFCs, and other pollutants in the earth. We can live longer because trees remove pollution and deliver fresh air to the lungs. Trees are playing great role in medical and medicines. The tree is the basis of healthy life
The importance of trees or the Plant Kingdom can not be explained at all, but have to be realized.
Plants generally represent the renewable source of oxygen in the earth, a blessing from God Almighty
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, “One acre of forest absorbs six tons of carbon dioxide and puts out four tons of oxygen. This is enough to meet the annual needs of 18 people.” Trees contribute to our environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife.
This is enough....
Pl see the paper of Prof T M Das of Kolkata" Value of a tree"
I have tried planting ornamental trees and my house is full of plants. I cannot ever live in a house without a decent area to plant things. Plants make the house pretty, it cleans the air and gives back oxygen. One plant can change the way your house and yard looks. We also know that without plants we would all die. Not just do to the food source it provides but it regulates heat and keep the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide.
