Please provide more information. E.g., show us your table of observed frequencies, and tell us whether any of the marginal totals are fixed by design. Also tell us why you do not wish to use a Chi-square test. Thanks for clarifying.
There are certainly some but why do you have to do that instead of the usual Chi-square test.? I have attached a search of some possible alternatives. Note the one that says " Is a fancier test better...". Best wishes, David Booth
I agree with Bruce Weaver and David Eugene Booth . If you'd be so kind as to explain your specific variables, sample, and the particular research question you'd like to answer, I think you would be more likely to get a recommendation that would address your concern as to whether some variant of a chi-square test was or was not appropriate for your situation.
