My iPS cells differentiate and do not maintain proper morphology on new MEFs that I currently use, so I would like to use another source. Does anyone have recommendations?
Hi, I would recommend using global stem CF1 irradiated or mitomycin C blocked, both are good. They have high viability and are US based. I have tried R&D wasn´t very impressed with them. Hope that helps
Hi, I use a commercially available MEFs for my human iPSC culture from GlobalStem company. I usually buy the CF-1 MEF (already irradiated or untreated and then I expand them and inactivated them with mitomycin) and it always works nicely. Good Luck

Hi, I've got mine from ATCC =) http://www.atcc.org/ATCCAdvancedCatalogSearch/ProductDetails/tabid/452/Default.aspx?ATCCNum=CRL-2214&Template=cellBiology, though I inactivate them myself with mytomicin from Sigma. So far no problem =).
it completely depends on your time and budget. If you have no time I recommend you to don't waste time by isolation and irritating process and order a vial of them.in my case,I ordered from iDNA company.
It's so easy to make your own though! Just get a 16-d/o pregnant mouse and isolate the embryos. Crush them up and expand them in T-175 flasks for a few days. Then, freeze them at around 10 M cells/vial. They need to be primaries; so re-purchasing from a vendor can get expensive fast!
