I am looking for a paper-and-pen task that correlate with one's performance measure (in terms of distance, time, turning errors, etc.) in navigating to new places. The correlation coefficient should be 0.30 and above. If it does not exist, what can we do to create one?
I’m also curious about whether such an instrument exists, I’ve used SBSOD (Hegarty et al., 2002) as one of my criterion tests. But it’s a self-report questionnaire, not a task. And the navigation ability should be measured within large-scale space, so it’s very difficult to use paper-and-pen task measuring it. Hope you can create one! Good luck with you, Dr. Zhong!
