I would say, it is pretty large period you are asking about. One can devide it for a few periodes. Two of them was both World Wars, I think it is accelerated all the technologies a lot. After the 2nd World War it was a period of Cold war between USSR and USA, and the Space racing was pat of it, so it is also accelerated technologies a lot.
